It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of former Reeve Kenneth Monteith. Ken was first elected to Council as a Councillor January 13, 1975. He served two terms as Councillor, until he was elected as Deputy Reeve December 6, 1978. In December 1980 he was elected Reeve for the first of two terms that he served. The Township of Southwold has now declared the December 22, 2022, Declaration of a Significant Weather event ended. The municipality will now return to addressing snow and ice accumulation on roadways in accordance with the Minimum Maintenance Standards as set out in O Reg. 239/02.

The Township of Southwold has declared a significant weather event, due to high winds, heavy snowfall, and blizzard conditions as defined within the O. Reg. 239/02 Minimum Maintenance Standards for Municipal Highways.
