Government of Ontario Capital Grant Gives Talbotville Community New Accessible Park
Talbotville, ON – On Friday, August 12th, local MPP Rob Flack met with members of the Township of Southwold to see the brand new, accessible, pavilion, playground and washroom located in Talbotville. MPP Flack was there to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony for the official opening of the new park. The Township of Southwold benefitted from a $150,000 Capital stream grant from the Government of Ontario’s Community Building Fund, which is administered by the Ontario Trillium Foundation. The funding received to support the park will provide for inclusive, unstructured activity, and will help the community to get active, stay active, and be involved.
“This investment by the Community Building Fund of the Ontario Trillium Foundation to increase activity in our community through the construction of a playground, pavilion, and washroom is great for Talbotville,” said Rob Flack, MPP for Elgin-Middlesex London. “The many residents of the area and surrounding area will benefit for years to come.”
“The impact of this Ontario Trillium Foundation Grant is monumental to our community,” said Grant Jones, Mayor, Township of Southwold. “This grant allows us to increase recreation and participation in activities in our community. It will support and encourage the community and recreational groups to get active and stay active.”
The Talbotville Park pavilion, playground, and washroom is now open to the whole community for recreation and enjoyment. If you wish to learn more about this space, please visit our website at: www.southwold.ca/parks
