Permit Deposits

Permit Holders:

Please be advised, effective May 1, 2023, the Township of Southwold Building Department will be requiring refundable deposits on all building permits issued within the Township. The deposits will range in amount dependent on the type and value of the permit. Deposit amounts are shown below. When a permit holder/property owner takes all required action to call for inspections as per the Building Code Act, and when all required documentation has been received by the Building Department, the permit file will be closed and deposits can be refunded.

Demolition Permits (that do not form part of any other agreement with the Township)		$1000
Permits with Construction Value over $10,000 and under $50,000		$2000
Swimming Pools/Swimming Pool Fences (in built up areas where a lot grading design in required)		$2000
Swimming Pools/Swimming Pool Fences (where no lot grading design in required)		$1000
Permits with construction value over $50,000 (except swimming pools/swimming pool fences)		$3500
