Lawrence Station - Plane Crash, 1941

On the evening of Sunday, October 30, 1941, the American Airlines Flagship Erie plane crashed on Howe's family farm. The crash claimed the lives of all 17 passengers and 3 crew members. In September 2018, the crash site was formerly memorialized. 2021 marked the 80th anniversary of the crash. In April 2023, a stage play was preformed at the Southwold Keystone Complex to honour the history.
