Recycling Collection

Recycling is collected every second week on your scheduled collection day. Recycling makes a difference guide for blue box separation – it is better for the environment, it leaves space in landfills, it saves money, and it creates jobs.

Below are a few tips to keep in mind when recycling:

• Sorting Recyclables: when recycling isn't sorted correctly, it costs taxpayers extra
• Use two blue boxes: separate paper products from containers
• Even more can be recycled: know the accepted recyclable materials
• What doesn't belong: know common recycling errors

The St. Thomas Community Recycling Centre also accepts recycling from Township of Southwold residents.

Blue box separation

There is no bi-weekly blue box limit, however, recyclables must be separated into two categories: containers and paper products. The Township offers blue bins for purchase, and the cost is $13.00 (HST included).
