On September 12, we held our first “Young at Heart” Outdoor event. This event was planned to include outdoor games and a history tour of Shedden.
Unfortunately, Mother Nature decided we needed some rain on that day. We set up our games inside the Complex and we were able to go ahead with the history tour with the use of the Rosy Rhubarb people mover, that is covered to keep the rain out.
I am very pleased to report that a record crowd turned out and a really good time was had by everyone.
A special Thank you goes to Mary Clutterbuck and Ross Burgar for their informative commentaries throughout the history tour, Husband and wife team of Tracy Gordon and Steve Ferguson for their great indoor presentation on what our early settlers had to endure in order to get from England to Southwestern Ontario in the early 1800’s, Rosy Rhubarb and Keith Orchard for supplying and driving the people mover and our Young at Heart Committee Members, Township staff, our families and friends who all contributed to a wonderful afternoon.
Our next event at the Complex is on Thursday September 26 from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Come on out and have fun with us. Our Fall and early Winter event schedule will be available at this time.
