Office Notice - COVID-19

Office Notice – March 16, 2020

The Township of Southwold takes the health of residents, visitors, and staff very seriously and is carefully monitoring the situation regarding the COVID-19 virus in Ontario.

The Township recommends following guidance from the Government of Canada on self-isolating for 14 days.

If you have recently travelled outside of Canada, please do not enter the office.

If you have a fever, cough, difficulties breathing or are not feeling well, please do not enter the office.

Please stay home if possible and take time to rest and get better. Your health and safety are important to us, and we will work with you as best we can through phone / email.

If your business with the Township can be handled over the phone or electronically, we would encourage you to do so.

Payments can be made electronically or left in the mail slot on the exterior of the building.

Public Meeting Zoning By-law Amendment

A public meeting for a Zoning By-law Amendment was held on Monday May 27th, 2019 at 7:15 p.m in Council Chambers at 35663 Fingal Line, Fingal.  This amendment updated zoning as it relates to the Federal Cannabis Act, Ontario Cannabis Act 2017, and Accessiblity for Ontarians with Disabilities Act.  Also added were new definitions and regulations and correct zone schedules due to mapping errors.  Below is revised version is now available.

Notice of Public Meeting - Building Fees

A public meeting is to be held on Monday April 8, 2019 at 8:00 p.m. at the Township office located at 35663 Fingal Line, Fingal ON.   It is the intention of the Township of Southwold under Section 7 of the Building Code Act to amend the fees described in By-law No. 2017-51, Tariff of Fees.  The fees as amended will take effect on the date of the passing of the by-law.

Any person upon request may receive the following information at no cost.

i) An estimated cost of administrating and enforcing teh Building Code Act by the prinicipal authority

ii) A copy of the new fee schedule

iii) The rational for imposing or changing the fees.
