The Township's Young @ Heart Committee is hosting a Senior Christmas Party with a Traditional Chritmas Dinner and some other activities on Thursday December 19, 2019.

Cost for the dinner is $5.00.  Tickets are available at the Township office or at a Young @ Heart Event

On September 12, we held our first “Young at Heart” Outdoor event. This event was planned to include outdoor games and a history tour of Shedden.
Unfortunately, Mother Nature decided we needed some rain on that day.  We set up our games inside the Complex and we were able to go ahead with the history tour with the use of the Rosy Rhubarb people mover, that is covered to keep the rain out...

This morning it was announced that the Township of Southwold will receive $209,747.02 from the Rural and Northern Infrastructural Grant. This grant was presented by Jeff Yurek, MPP of Elgin - Midlesex - London and will be going towards the replacement of Second Line Bridge. The total estimated cost of the project is $629, 304.00.

 Just after we left the ballpark Mother Nature decided that she was going to see how our 14 tractor drivers would handle 90 minutes’ worth of rain. By the time we got to the Salmon & Trout farm, even with our free ponchos, most were wet but determined not to quit. Thankfully, the rain stopped when we hit the road again and for the rest of the run she gave us nice weather.

This year’s FINGAL – SHEDDEN OPTIMIST CLUB vintage car show at the annual ROSY RHUBARB festival was an outstanding success and set a new record with over 130 vehicles participating!
Just about every major North American manufacturer and several European companies were represented.
You name it, we had it on display: Sedans, Hardtops, Convertible’s, Sports cars, Pick-up’s, the list...
