Another Record-Breaking Event for the Optimist Club of Fingal, Shedden & District
Following on the heels of our record-breaking vintage car event at the recent annual Rosy Rhubarb festival we are pleased to announce that our participation in this year’s Southwold Township Canada Day celebration resulted in a record number of canned and dry goods donations to Caring Cupboard as well as a record total of cash donations to go toward local projects.
By all reports it seems that this year’s Canada Day crowd included the largest attendance since this event began. Certainly, that claim was born out by the huge number of cars parked on Fingal Streets.
At the ball park there seemed to be a never-ending line up for face painting and at the food booth where the Shedden Soccer folks were go, go, go. The music was great as was the weather, and how about that cake and those fireworks? What more could you ask for!
Our Optimist Club of Fingal, Shedden & District is proud to be a part of such a worthwhile undertaking and looks forward to seeing an even larger turnout next year.
Thank you to all of our members for your hard work and also to Rosy Rhubarb for supplying their stage and everyone else who helped make this event such a huge success.
We look forward to extending our record-breaking streak at our annual baseball tournament which is held at the Fingal Ball Park on Saturday and Sunday August 31 and September 1. Please mark your calendars now for a great baseball weekend.
On behalf of the members of the Optimist Club of Fingal, Shedden & District THANK YOU!
